Person vs Deal vs Activity routing
An inbound from a brand-new caller is usually a new Person + new Deal. An existing customer is a new Activity against the existing Person. The AI needs to know which is which and create the right object.
Pipeline + stage assignment
If you have multiple pipelines (Sales / Renewals / Customer Success), the AI should be able to route Deal creation to the right one based on call type — not dump everything in 'New Sales'.
Custom field mapping
Pipedrive's custom fields are where your team's actual qualification lives. The integration needs to let you map AI-captured fields to your custom fields without scripting.
Activity logging with recording link
Reps live in the Activity timeline. A 'Phone Call' activity with the recording URL attached is the right artifact — not a Notes entry buried in a Deal.

In the demo, ask the vendor to create a Deal on your actual pipeline with your actual custom fields populated. Some integrations only work cleanly with Pipedrive's default pipeline.
Be deliberate about dedup
Pipedrive's matching is by email primarily; phone is secondary. If your AI doesn't always capture email, dedup may miss returning customers. Map both.
